The LALIZAS Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) is a critical GMDSS emergency device that responds to X-Band (9GHz) radar signals from rescue vessels and aircraft. When activated, it transmits a distinctive radar signature visible on standard ship radar up to 8 nautical miles, dramatically improving the chances of rescue.
